Diabetes in India

Diabetes Diet Planning, Dietary Treatments for Diabetes:
Diabetes is one disease which can be severely aggravated by the wrong kind of diet. Hence Diet planning is the cornerstone of managing diabetes.
Avoid sugar in any form – rice, potato, banana, cereals & fruits containing high percentage of sugar content.
Include at least one bitter dish in every meal
Take plenty of green vegetables, black gram, soya, fish etc
Vegetables such as Bitter Gourd, string beans, cucumber, onion and garlic, fruits such as Indian Gooseberry, Jambu Fruit and Grapes and grains like Bengal gram and black gram should be included in the diet.

Home Remedies
Mix 1 tbsp each amla fruit juice and bitter gourd fruit juice, and take once every morning for two months.
Take equal quantities of fruits of amla, java plum and bitter gourd. Extract their juice. 1 tbsp twice daily.
Extract 2 tsp juice from bitter gourd leaves. Mix in 2-3 pinches of ground asafetida. Take daily in the morning.
Take 1 tsp crushed tender leaf buds of mango and neem.
Grind 1 tbsp each dried mango flowers, dried tender mango buds and dried seeds of jamun into a very fine powder and store. Dose: 1 tsp along with hot water every morning for 40 days.
Eat 1 tsp seeds of the fig, separated from the pulp, along with 1 tsp honey every day for a few weeks.
Mix ¼ tsp asafetida powder in 2 tsp bitter gourd juice. Take twice a day.
Crush 8 tsp cumin into a fine powder. Take ½ tsp with water twice daily.
A pinch of saffron pounded with ½ tsp ghee taken regularly.
Mix 2 tsp lime juice in 4 tsp amla juice and 1 tsp honey. Take in the morning on an empty stomach.

Duration : 2-3 times a day for 10-15 min daily before food.
